Principles of Statistical Mechanics and its connection to Thermodynamics. The microcanonical, canonical and grand canonical ensembles. Ideal and non-ideal gases. Quantum statistical mechanics and its applications: degenerate Fermi gases, Bose-Einstein condensation, superconductivity and superfluidity. Phase transitions and critical behavior.
