SPS party in the Physics Library

Society of Physics Students

Washington University in St. Louis Chapter of the Society of Physics Students

We’re a chapter of the national SPS organization and also part of Washington University’s Student Union. We’re here to help you all get excited about, learning about, and involved in all things physics. We also serve as a liaison between undergraduate students and the Physics Department.

We host a range of fun physics events like observatory parties, experiment demo nights, lab tours, and panels on research and graduate admissions. We also have connected students with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities such as a meet-and-greet with a Nobel Laureate and dinner with Neil deGrasse Tyson. Additionally, we have led a wide range of endeavors to make our department more inclusive.

All are welcome to join; a large number of our members aren’t even physics majors or minors!

WashU is excited to host this year's Zone 12 Meeting!

Covering topics such as Astrophysics, Quantum Physics, and Biophysics, Wash U Society of Physics Students is proud to host Zone 12, a conference meant for undergraduate students interested in Physics to meet other undergrads, connect with professors, learn more about graduate school or the industry, and even present their research in a poster competition!

Everyone is welcome! Lunch and dinner will be provided for attendees.
