Penguins in Antarctica

UH Cosmic ray analysis

Wolfgang Zober, Washington University in St. Louis

In this year's penguin talk, I will once again discuss the joys of researching cosmic rays, specifically the ultra heavy cosmic rays, the nuclei heavier than iron. The primary focus of this talk will be on my work for the UH analysis of ISS-CALET, the bulk of which has been on calculating the geomagnetic rigidity of particles based on point of detection and direction, and then ray-tracing those events out of the magnetosphere. I will also cover the successful 2019-2020 SuperTIGER launch in Antarctica alongside current work on a future balloon mission, APT.
