Twisted Surfaces of Weyl Semi-metals

Dr. Ganpathy Murthy (Hosted by Seidel), University of Kentucky

Weyl Semi-metals are a phase of matter which possess an even number of Weyl band touchings in the bulk Brillouin Zone. As a consequence, there are Fermi arcs present at the surface, which connect the projections of the bulk Weyl points. I will talk about the reconstructions of these Fermi arcs in a system where two surfaces of Weyl semi-metals are brought together after having been twisted with respect to each other by an arbitrary angle, and the experimental consequences of such reconstructions.
