Physics Theory Seminar with Sam Novario on Exploring Nuclear Phenomena

Sam Novario (Hosted by Dev) from Los Alamos National Laboratory will be presenting the seminar, "Exploring Nuclear Phenomena: Advances in Coupled Cluster Theory"

Significant advancements in the calculations of atomic nuclei owe their progress to the integration of chiral effective field theory, high-performance computing, and sophisticated many-body approaches. In particular, Coupled Cluster Theory stands out as a formidable tool, enabling the exploration of a wide array of nuclear phenomena. These calculations have far-reaching implications, extending from understanding neutron stars to probing physics beyond the Standard Model.

This presentation will provide an encompassing overview of various Coupled Cluster techniques before delving into my recent research projects. These encompass topics ranging from the nuclear structure of medium-mass nuclei and charge-exchange reactions to the investigation of neutron skins, nuclear matter, and electroweak phenomena, including the double-beta decay.
