Physics Graduate Student Seminar with Victoria Han on Computationally Modeling Skin with Monte Carlo Simulations

Victoria Han of Washington University in St. Louis will be presenting the seminar on "Computationally Modeling Skin with Monte Carlo Simulations "

Melanin is a crucial chromophore in the skin that plays a diverse role, yet to this day, we do not have an objective metric for quantifying it. We simulate the diffuse reflectance curves of skin with various levels of melanin using Monte Carlo simulations. In this talk we will briefly discuss how melanin affects modern day healthcare and the research being done in order to address it.
