Graduate Student Seminar with Jason Bub on The Way Forward May Be (nu)Clear

Jason Bub of Washington University in St. Louis will be presenting the seminar about "The Way Forward May Be (nu)Clear "

Properties of nuclei offer a probe into the intricate interactions fundamental to our understanding of the universe. By delving into the building blocks of the matter around us, we can form a more coherent picture of the phenomena we observe, allowing us to further technologies that may impact our lives. Due to nuclear matter being present in everything around us, nuclear physics lives at the intersection of multiple topics ranging from astrophysics, high-energy physics, medical physics, clean energy, etc. How nuclear phenomena enter into such fields may be obscure, so in this talk we will explore some facets of nuclear properties that are interesting and weird. From there, we can delve into how we try to understand such interesting and strange phenomena and how we can finally use them to improve and exploit our understanding of the universe for the betterment of humanity.
