Graduate Student Seminar with Abe Flores on Effective coding practices are essential for success in computational physics research

Abe Flores of Washington University in St. Louis will be presenting the seminar "Effective coding practices are essential for success in computational physics research"

Effective coding practices are essential for success in computational physics research. I will discuss the necessary tools to start any programming project, large or small. I plan on doing (attempting) a live calculation on the local physics cluster to demonstrate what steps are needed to run code on a cluster nicely. I will outline some general programming practices that will help you become a better programmer in the future. Overall, I aim to provide some basic knowledge of what a physics student should know about computing.
