Dr. Hughes' research interests relate to the highest energy astrophysical objects known: blazars, gamma-ray binaries,  and gamma-ray bursts. He investigates these objects primarily through analysis of VERITAS and Fermi data. Dr. Hughes also has a keen interest in detector and mission development for future gamma-ray instruments.
