Alex Meshik joined the Laboratory for Space Sciences at Washington University in 1996 and became a research professor in 2006. He worked with the capture and analysis of solar wind noble gases for the NASA Genesis Mission.
Meshik also investigates meteoritic nano-diamonds by means of selective laser extraction, studies xenon isotopic anomalies and the origin of fission xenon in the terrestrial atmosphere, applies xenon isotopes for geo- and cosmo-chronology and studies double beta decay of Ba and Te isotopes.
