Hydrodynamic phenomena in nonreciprocal electron liquids with Alex Levchenko

Alex Levchenko (hosted by Sheng Ran & Dmitry Chichinadze) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison will be presenting the Condensed Matter / Biophysics Seminar on Hydrodynamic phenomena in nonreciprocal electron liquids.

In this talk, I will survey recent results on transport effects in noncentrosymmetric conductors that admit a hydrodynamic description. After a brief overview of electron hydrodynamics in the context of strongly correlated two-dimensional systems and Dirac fluids in graphene, I will present new results on nonlinear two-terminal conductance, the photogalvanic effect, drag, and charge entrainment by surface acoustic waves in the hydrodynamic regime of electron liquids.
