Transforming Energy through Sustainable Mobility

As the only Department of Energy laboratory dedicated solely to research, development, and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has active research programs in renewable power generation, energy efficiency, energy systems integration, and sustainable transportation. Chris Gearhart is the director of NREL’s Transportation and Hydrogen Systems Center (THSC). The research conducted in the THSC focuses on making mobility more sustainable. In his presentation, Chris will provide an overview of the sustainable mobility research in his center including examples supporting vehicle electrification, hydrogen fueling infrastructure, renewable fuels combustion, and implications of new mobility technologies.
