Event Description

We have been invited by the alumni/development office to give a talk on this subject Thursday afternoon in the Lab Sciences lecture hall, and the number of people who have responded with intent to attend has already filled the hall. Members of our department have suggested that we also give the talk to the department, so here it is.

We will describe what causes an eclipse, some of the important science that has been done with eclipses, and helpful information for those planning to see this total eclipse.

Our presentation is aimed at a general audience, so family members of all ages would be welcome. (This is not a physics colloquium.)

Pre-talk Reception: 3:30 pm, 212 Wilson
