Postdoctoral Opening in Theoretical Astroparticle Physics and Cosmology

The successful candidate will pursue theoretical research in astroparticle physics and cosmology. Research areas include dark matter and dark energy, baryogenesis, cosmological applications of strings, and the origin of the highest energy cosmic rays.

Robert M. Walker Postdoctoral Fellowship in Experimental Space Sciences
The McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis invites exceptionally well-motivated scientists in the area of experimental space sciences to apply for this prestigious postdoctoral position. This research fellowship was specially created to attract outstanding scientists early in their career; accordingly, the individual in this position should have a scientific record testifying to his/her exceptional talent. The McDonnell Center is a consortium of about 50 faculty members and scientists, primarily drawn from the departments of Physics and Earth and Planetary Sciences, who have wide-ranging theoretical, observational and experimental scientific interests. The Walker Postdoctoral Fellow will be based in the Department of Physics.

This position is a two-year appointment, with a possible third-year extension if there is major progress. The annual salary is highly competitive, and the terms and conditions of the fellowship will depend upon the quality and experience of the candidate.
